Bar Villa Marie is a compact home bar set within a listed villa. As with much of our work, we succeeded in crafting a deeply personal space – allowing guests to gather around the host at the bar. The refined, tailor-made furniture features elegant curves, horizontal walnut veneer and a combination of matt finish and piano gloss. Think: Great Gatsby vibes. Add to that the crackling fire in the rounded corner opposite the bar, and you have a space that is not only visually balanced, but also guarantees a welcoming atmosphere in small company.

Our choice of a dark green velour ceiling also contributes to the intimate feel and optimal acoustics. As distinctive as it is full of character, the classic vintage shade of ‘old English racing green’ brings a sense of calm and comfort to the room. What’s more, the colour creates a link to the outdoors, as the bar – accessed via a mezzanine leading to the basement – overlooks the garden. Lighting was kept deliberately understated, with minimalist fixtures casting just enough glow to create atmosphere and highlight the right details. Let the weekend begin.
